Ice_tongue - An interesting feature in the Antarctic are Ice Tongues.  These are glaciers that extend beyond the shoreline and are floating on the ocean.  In some regions these ice tongues can go for miles offshore. This end of this ice tongue is at least several miles from the coastline.
